WHO’S IT FOR?
Level 2 will suit you if you want to be a junior stylist, or already have some experience in the hairdressing and barbering industry.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
There are three qualifications available at this level:
Level 2 NVQ/SVQ/VRQ Diploma in Hairdressing
Covers a range of skills and knowledge, such as cutting, drying, styling, colouring and lightening, relaxing and perming, as well as shampooing and consulting with clients.

Level 2 NVQ/SVQ/VRQ Diploma in Barbering
Covers shaving, cutting facial hair, creating patterns in hair, as well as cutting and styling men’s hair and consulting with clients.

Level 2 NVQ/SVQ/VRQ Diploma in Hairdressing (Combined Hair Types)
Covers advising and consulting with clients with Afro hair types, shampooing and treating Afro hair types, relaxing hair, changing hair colour, cutting hair using basic techniques and styling and finishing hair.

WHAT’S NEXT?
Level 2 learners may progress to employment and/or to the Level 3 NVQ/SVQ/VRQ Diploma in Hairdressing or Barbering.
