ghd x THE IT LIST
Creative HEAD magazine’s annual awards for young hairdressing talent
For 14 years ghd has been the exclusive sponsor of The It List – the annual
awards event spotlighting exciting new emerging names in UK and Irish
hairdressing aged 30 or under. Together with leading industry magazine Creative
HEAD, they’ve helped uncover stars like Christopher Appleton (now
hairdresser to Kim Kardashian), session stylist Leigh Keates, social media
queen Sophia Hilton and a host of other great names who have gone on to achieve major success in
the industry.
Every year there are six trophies to be won: The Rising Star, The Business Builder , The Visionary, The Editorial Stylist, The Salon Stylist and The One To Watch.
Experts from the worlds of hair, fashion, celebrity, fashion and the media come together to judge The It List – session stars like Johnnie Sapong and Adam Reed, beauty journalist Lisa Oxenham, talent scouts from Premier Hair & Make-up and Streeters and Little Mix stylist Aaron Carlo. These awesome people choose the 30 It List finalists who go to the star-studded Grand Final in an amazing London location (think Natural History Museum, Printworks, Tate Modern…).
Winners are snapped up by talent agencies, headhunted by brands and talked about in all the right circles – so overnight stardom awaits. And there’s an awesome year ahead, too! Alongside their It List trophy, the six superstars are nurtured with previews of new ghd innovation and exclusive Mentorship Days, working with industry greats such as Adam Reed and Zoë Irwin.
