I love working in hair because... It gives me freedom.
My route into this world was… Via Toni&Guy, where I did a three-year apprenticeship working in its flagship Mayfair salon while training at the academy.

My current job is… A men’s session stylist working in fashion. I’m the creative director at Joe & Co barber shop, an ambassador for BaByliss Men, and I’m also working on my own range of men’s hair products called Taylored.

When I said I wanted to be a hairdresser, I was told... I’d never finish the training or make any money! But also I was told I could travel the world, have my own business or work in fashion. I listened to both.

If only parents knew that barbering… Could offer so many opportunities.
My mentor is... Toni&Guy’s international artistic director and head of education, Cos Sakkas.

The most important piece of advice has been… Be humble.

It’s never too late to become a hairdresser because… There’s so much good education out there now.

Working in hairdressing makes me feel… Happy to be part of such a creative industry but also embarrassed by how the industry is portrayed in the media.

The three hairdressers who inspire me most are… Gary Gill, Duffy and Anthony Turner.

Want to get started? Your first step should be...  Have a look at different styles of salons/academies and see what you like and contact them. Don’t be afraid, try to surround yourself with inspiring people.

Make sure you…  Always give 100%!

You’re working with lots of people every day. Always remember...
It costs nothing to be polite and friendly.
My career highlight so far has been… Winning the 2018 Creative HEAD Most Wanted Men’s Hair Specialist Award.

If I didn’t work in hair, I would be a... Chef or a menswear designer.

My ambitions include… Improving every day, and growing my product brand.

The best part of my day is… When I’m doing hair.

I’m proud to be a hairdresser because… In my eyes, Britain has the highest standard of hairdressing in the world and the industry is always evolving and improving. And to be a part of that makes me proud.
