RECOGNITION
NVQ/VRQ
If you have NVQ/VRQ Level 2 or equivalent, you can apply to become a State Registered Hairdresser or Barber.
If you have NVQ/VRQ Level 3 or equivalent, you can apply to become a State Registered Senior Hairdresser or Barber.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
The Level 2 Technical Certificate is recognised by employers and higher education institutions including Francesco Group, Good Salon Guide, Hair Council, H.O.B.O Recruitment, INOAR, and Lee Stafford.
For Technical qualifications, there is a four-grade scale: Pass, Merit, Distinction, Distinction* and your final result will be calculated from your combined achievements across assessments. You must receive a minimum of Pass in each unit for the qualification to be awarded.
Following successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate, you will be qualified to work in a number of employment destinations such as: hairdressing salons, hotels or cruise ships.
Alternatively you may choose to progress onto a Level 3 Technical Diploma qualification where you can enhance the skills and knowledge that you have gained at Level 2 to progress into senior job roles and wider career choices. This qualification could also lead you to an advanced apprenticeship in Hairdressing.
