I love working in hair because… Of the breadth of work that being a hairdresser offers.
My route into this world was… A great apprenticeship!

My role is… Founder of Adam Reed London, and I’m also global brand ambassador for ghd.

When I said I wanted to be a hairdresser, I was told... To go for it!

My first job was… A face painter at Butlins in Minehead.

The most important piece of advice has been… Go with your heart.

If only parents knew that hairdressing… Offers fulfilment, both creatively and in terms of business. Getting to travel the world and meet incredible people – it’s the ultimate career.
My mentor is... There have been so many it would be hard to pinpoint one, but the session stylist Luigi Murenu taught me a lot about respecting hair.

I’m inspired by… Passion and authenticity.

My most treasured possession is… My memory.

Working in hairdressing makes me feel… Really, really happy! I get to do a job that I absolutely love.

My career highlight so far has been… There have been so many, including leading the hair backstage at London Fashion Week for shows such as House of Holland, and having a giggle with bands such as One Direction when I’ve been doing the hair on shows like The X Factor. But opening Adam Reed London is a dream come true. Also, getting to work very closely with world renowned brands on new product development and creative projects is beyond my wildest dreams.

That one time, I saw… The legendary photographer Rankin working for the first time, the absolute epitome of team work.

Want to get started? Your first step should be... To find a salon that makes you want to get up and go to work. This salon will be giving you the foundations for your career so it’s really important that you love going in every day.

You’re working with lots of people every day. Always remember to... Be kind!

The three hairdressers who inspire me most are… Julien d’Ys, Anthony Turner and Gary Gill.

If it hadn’t been for hair, I would have… Been a perfume nose.

My ambitions include… Being the absolute best that I can be.

The best part of my day is… Waking up!

I’m proud to be a hairdresser because… I help to make people feel good about themselves.
