THE ID ARTIST PROGRAMME

The ID Artist Programme by L’Oréal Professionnel is a two-year talent development programme full of inspirational education and unique hairdressing opportunities for young hairdressers, which launched in 2003. The programme aims to provide training in cut and colour techniques, product innovation, session styling and the latest catwalk looks, and to develop stage craft and presenting skills.

Entry to the programme is through successfully auditioning and the panel of judges includes some of the top hairdressers in the UK and Ireland. There are two paths to choose from when becoming an ID Artist Session & Cutting or Artistic Colour. The audition comprises of a three-minute presentation that you will give to an expert panel. Afterwards the judges will ask you questions and also offer development feedback for furthering your career. Currently the team is made out of 30 first years and 30 second years. Over 350 ID Artists have been made in the programme’s 16-year history, including names that have gone on to be very renowned industry hair stylists.
